Beautiful city and country developed from a fishing village to world’s one of the most well-developed countries. So this was our first trip to Singapore but certainly not the last one. We are definitely going to come back again for the friendly vibes and incredible views at the Marina Bay Sands. We both were awed by its diversity, welcoming culture, clean and green streets, breathtaking skyline etc.
Singapore do have a reputation of being a garden city and for good reason. There is literally no lack of trees or plants, whether it is indoors or outdoors. Its amazing to see how well maintained they are. The greenery helps to keep it cool and breezy everywhere, as the weather here is consistently hot & humid. We couldn’t imagine how much hotter it would be without the trees and this greenery here. Its commendable to create such garden city and maintain different types of flora and fauna from different regions of the world.
Flight & Bookings:
Carriers flying from India to Singapore are mainly Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Air India, Air Asia, Vistara, Indigo etc. We chose Singapore Airlines, the flag carrier of Singapore and flew from Bengaluru in their Airbus A350. It was a 4-hour comfortable flight with a convenient departure and arrival times. Landed at the Singapore Changi Airport which serves as its main base where flights to more than 60 destinations in over 30 countries are offered.
Hotel Bookings & Budget:
Keep in mind that Singapore is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. So expect to spend the same as you would in a big American or European city. Credit cards are widely accepted but you should still carry some cash for food stalls, coffee shops and souvenirs.
Singaporean dollar (SGD) is the currency of choice here. Currently $1 US dollar will get you $1.33 Singapore dollars. And $1 Singapore dollar is equivalent to 60 INR (Indian Rupee).
We took somewhat around $200 during our trip (12,000 INR approx.) on the top of all hotel and online ticket bookings.
All about our free Stay/Accomodation in Singapore!
The Westin Singapore: The premium yet elegant environment adds to the impeccable service here. Its is located in downtown by the vibrant Marina Bay. Very close to all the prime attractions of Singapore including Gardens by the Bay, Chinatown & Merlion Park. (Even Shenton way MRT station was just adjacent to our hotel)
So as I mentioned our stay there was totally FREE!! Yes you heard it right. We redeemed our Marriot Bonvoy points that we transferred from our AMEX card which really paid off here with the complementary luxury stays during our travel.
You can also save a hell lot of money on your stays and flights. To know more about the same you can check out our blog. Just find the link here.
Some clicks of the Lobby area, and Our View from the Room
You can go through our Singapore 4 days Itinerary with the day by day breakdown with all the details for your convenience. This itinerary is dedicated to those of you who want a fulfilling experience-filled time in Singapore. Especially who are travelling to Singapore for the first time.
The Jewel, Changi International Airport:
Whether you’re in Singapore for a layover or a longer trip you should not miss the charms and attractions of Jewel Changi. The airport comprises four terminals. Jewel Changi seamlessly links to the terminal 1,2 and 3, and fuses artistry, architecture and nature into a single structure.
Although Singapore is known to be a warm country, as soon as we arrived there, the coolness of the Rain Vortex (world’s tallest indoor waterfall) welcomed us giving that cool breezy vibe instantly.
Captured this picture, in front of the star of Jewel Changi. Water cascading down from the oculus eye of Jewel to the basement.. How beautiful! Go get yours too, at night preferably to enjoy the light and sound show π
The Jewel is also a really huge mall, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and all other amenities. We noticed a lot of locals here as well, hanging around with family and friends. On the other hand there were many tourists & travelers with their luggage, exploring and taking pictures all around.
As we were a bit tired after the flight and all that roaming, so we headed for some coffee.
Sometimes all you need is some cappuccino!!
Grabbed some coffee and discussing the days ahead & itinerary for the trip here. So relaxing to sit back and relax after long long walks around the airport.
Singapore at a Glance:
Commute
MRT with AC subways connected to every stations.
Cabs through respective apps.
MRT: These are not only very efficient but also a very reasonable and time saving way to see the city at your own leisure.
A lot of stations are either adjacent to shopping malls & subways or within a few minutes walk from tourist attractions. You can get to the airport from the city as well.
Cabs: You can book cabs through Grab and Gojek apps, they are very convenient to book
Culture
A congregation of different cultures coexisting in one congenial space
Beyond Singapore’s picture-perfect skyline, this vibrant city-state boasts a beautiful blend of Malaysian, Indian, Chinese, Arab and English cultures – all with its own Singaporean twist. The “Lion City, is filled with art, museums, history rich hotspots of Chinatown, Kampong Gelam and Little India.
In July, foodies can plan to visit. As there is Singapore Food Festival where you will savour best of Singaporean cuisine & modern as well as traditional flavours.
Food
Local Food Courts(Satay by the bay/Cafes in Arab Street & Chinatown(Turkish & Lebanese)
We both turned vegetarian, almost a year ago. It made it hard to find vegetarian food, amidst all that seafood there.
There are many food courts serving Singapore’s local and must-try delights where you can enjoy the local cuisines. So in order to not miss the local flavors, we made our plates modified according to the need quite conveniently. We loved these Southeast Asian & Malay cuisines particularly-
Hokkien mee, Nasi lemak, Bak kut teh (made with mushrooms and tofu sticks).
Getting around Singapore (Our Commute apart from Cabs):
Singaporeβs MRT (Mass Rapid Transit): You can get a EZ-Link card that cost $10 and come with a stored value of $5 for you to use on your commutes. You can purchase these at Passenger Service Centres in train stations, any Transitlink Ticket Office or convenience stores such as 7-11, Buzz.
Best part is you can also tap and use your visa/mastercard (debit or credit cards) for the MRT commutes.
We mostly travelled by cabs or MRT in Singapore.
Us! taking almost all rides through Singapore MRT ended up remembering the route maps already! π
Famous Singapore Cultural Hotspots that we loved visiting:
I love sketching pictures of places we visit, Arab Street
All about the Food we ate in Singapore:
Lunch date with him, at a Turkish restaurant in Kampong Glam(Arab Street). It is renowned for its authentic Turkish Cuisine.
Check out what all we ate and loved in Singapore. Purely local flavors of Hawker streets. Our taste buds were totally satisfied all throughout the trip.
What all should be included in a 4-day Singapore trip Itinerary?
Singapore is a great year-round destination as it never gets cold due to its tropical weather which is consistently moderate. We visited in November end week and surprisingly the weather was absolutely pleasant. And we didn’t witness any rain throughout luckily.
Lets start by saying that its a big captivating city so its better to have a bit of a plan to make it a hassle free one. And we love planning things whether its a trip, exploring nature, hiking up mountains, and seeing new places. So we recommend the Singapore highlights, broken down into a perfect 4-day itinerary for our readers who are planning their trip to Singapore.
Lets get to it shall we? 4 days in Singapore, here we go….time to get you finding some stellar spots.
Day 1:
Get yourself to the colorful Little India, check out the Raffles hotel and explore Haji Lani and Arab street on Day 1 to have authentic taste of the old part of the Singapore and its history. There are quaint little streets, colorful houses, historic low-rise buildings, boutique shops, and many restaurants. We tried lunch and evening snacks in some local cafes here.
Shopping spots around the Arab street, Kampong Glam:
Its a haven for shopping lovers. from fabrics like Indonesian batik, silk, accesories, customised perfumes, persian carpets etc to the turkish lamps, Japanese art pieces and pottery there are plenty of stores you can checkout. (Soon Lee, Supermama, DWiz, Sifr Aromatics, Achakzai Trading)
Cafes: Hummus and tandoor, Kampong glam cafe, Alsaeed by Char Syed, Working Title cafe, BluJaz Cafe, House of Kebab.
Your next stop after Arab Street can be the merlion for sure that you cant miss. This water-spewing stone lion with a mermaid/fish tail is kind of a landmark or iconic place of Singapore to visit.
Our hotel was nearby so we came back to relax and spend some time at the beautiful infinity pool on the topmost floor of our hotel.
View from the infinity pool was so incredible, specially the sunset
Day 2:
First off, a single day might not be enough if you don’t plan it accordingly. We planned our 2nd day to visit and fully relish the surreal beauty of Gardens by the Bay. So you can plan your second day accordingly if you are following our itinerary so far.
It instantly got you touch with our inner child as you enter these magical gardens. The vibe is so amazing and unfolds a different world of fun and fantasy. There was a enchanting music all around there in the background mostly inspired by the colorful worlds of Wizardry, Cosmic space, Scifi and magic. 3 must see attractions in Gardens by the Bay that are absolutely a delight to the human eyes are:
- Flower Dome
- The Cloud Forest
- Supertree Grove
Below are some pictures cum memories that we captured during our visits to Gardens by the Bay:
Entrance click, Akshay surrounded by the most beautiful flower species at Flower Dome in the next picture
After witnessing different species of flowers from different region of the world, we went to the cloud forest.
The one with the indoor waterfall at Cloud forest & the cool Avatar Duo!!
Our next stop was the amazing supergrove tree forest. Do not miss the popular light and sound show Garden Rhapsody (7..45-8pm & 8.45-9pm) which was free to attend. This was the best and relaxing part of our second day also. A perfect romantic evening where we just lied under the magical trees and stars. It transports you to the golden era of the music of opera while you swoon to those dreamy lights and soundscapes of Opera gliterring above you. Some moments that we clicked amidst the magic-
Day 3:
Keep your Day 3 for exploring the Sentosa Island. It is a fun Island off the Southern coast connected with Singapore mainland through road, cable car and monorail. Sentosa has many attractions that you should definitely not miss on your Singapore trip.
We reached Sentosa through the Sentosa Express (from Vivo mall). But you can also try Cable car if you want to enjoy some panoramic view of the harbor and island. The cable car is available from the harbor front station also from Faber Peak).
Places you should not miss visiting at Sentosa Island in your 1 day trip:
Universal Studios:
It is Asiaβs second and Southeast Asiaβs first movie theme park located within the Resorts World Sentosa. The best day to visit here is when there are Special Events or when opening hour is extended. You can refer to the USS Calendar, visit USS Website to check the special events or extended opening hours.
TIP: Universal Express Passes do not include admission into Universal Studios Singapore. A separate One-Day ticket (or season pass or annual pass) is required for admission.
SEA aquarium-
Sentosa is home to one of the worldβs biggest oceanarium, the S.E.A. Aquarium. Its 45 million liters of water houses more than 100,000 sea creatures, with over 800 different species living together. We booked the ticket for this one from klook.com. The moment we crossed the first tunnel, a huge glass wall with many marine creatures greeted us. It was so relaxing to witness marine life so closely, especially big sharks and stingrays swimming freely in the blue water. It felt like we were walking inside the sea. Just sitting and watching these creatures moving all around us was truly a therapeutic and peaceful experience.
Madame Tussauds Museum-
Secondly we went to the most famous Madame Tussauds where again we pre-booked our 4 in 1 ticket that included-
- Ultimate film star experience which is a great one for all the photogenic and insta fam jam. Many display of Bollywood movie actors (wax statues) and movie sets were present there. There is a section (the one with sleeper train and Amitabh Bachchan) where you get to act/audition in that filmy vibe. Also go unleash your inner dancer with the Bollywood celebs (virtual) like we did. It was such a unforgettable and entertaining experience.
Clicking Pout selfies with Karan Johar & Some Disco moves with Varun Dhawan..You got to do it man!!
2. There is another zone of the Madame Tussauds Singapore. Here you can recognize some of the leaders, international celebs and pop singers and sports legends as wax statutes. We had a great time capturing those fun moments with our most favorite ones.
3. Images of Singapore Live. Its a 45-minute guided tour that will take you through a journey of Singapore’s growth from a seaside fishing village to a bustling metropolis. It is no doubt an immersive trip to the Singapore of over 200 years ago. It is a unique time-travel experience that covers the rich and colorful past of Singapore with its 15 interactive exhibits.
The journey ends with a new-age boat ride called the Spirit of Singapore Boat Ride.
4. Spirit of Singapore boat ride is a wonderful water journey which will take you through replicas of iconic landmarks of Singapore. Starting from Gardens by the bay to the Singapore Grand Prix on a boat that passes through the tropical jungle. When the boat drifts to the Singapore flyer and the Singapore Grand Prix the epic speeding car sounds makes it even more fascinating. The ride lasted about 3-4 minutes, and was a fun ride for sure.
TIP: Please do no overbook or pre book tickets of too many activities if you only have 1 day at Sentosa. As that was what we did too, which did not make sense. Although we truly enjoyed our time at Sentosa and it was totally worth what all we explored.
Its better to take a fun pass (with multiple activities) only when you can reach Sentosa and start your day very early. Otherwise just book for the particular activities you have planned to do on the same day.
Day 4:
Final day of the trip can be spent by exploring some city centre attractions such as Marina Bay Sands, Art Science Museum, Orchard Road etc. Sunsets are so beautiful here, we spend a lot of time drooling over the melting skies of Singapore. Last day was just about lounging around the streets and soaking in all that glitters.
It’s time to end the Singapore trip packed with sightseeing, amazing attractions, authentic Asian food and shopping. This itinerary of Singapore promises a truly amazing holiday that will leave you feeling content along with loads of memories. We believe so!!
This is why we call Singapore- A melting pot of rich cultures!
We hope you visit Singapore and experience it for yourself soon. If you have any questions leave them down below on the comments. We love feedbacks!

As I go through your blog, I could see the places and felt like traveling virtually to this beautiful city. Very nicely blogged with amazing pictures. Love to see more of your travel blog, maybe a YouTube video also be a great way to publish to attract more travel audiences. Just wanted to know the Visa process, is it cumbersome or easy?
Thanks a lot for the appreciation! Youtube is of course a good platform, although we post our video vlogs on our instagram page.
We got the visa through an agent and received it in a week’s time without any hassles.
